Filling:
Prepare the filling
Cook the Filling:
Heat the oil in a pan over medium heat.
Add the finely chopped onions and sauté until softened.
Add the minced beef to the pan, season with salt and pepper, and cook until the meat is browned and fully cooked. Set aside.
Assembling the Pie
Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 200ºC (392ºF).
Layer the Pastry:
Grease a round baking tray with oil.
Place a layer of filo pastry on the bottom of the tray.
Spread a thin layer of the meat filling over the pastry.
Cover with another layer of filo pastry, brushing each layer generously with oil.
Repeat the process, alternating between layers of filling and filo pastry, until you have five or six layers in total.
Top and Bake:
Finish with a final layer of filo pastry on top, ensuring it's well-coated with oil.
Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes, or until the pastry is golden and crisp.
Serve
Once baked, cut the pie into quarters and serve warm.
